Children’s Programs

Summer Reading begins on June 16th!

This summer our theme is “Once Upon a Time” and we are so excited to offer a host of varied and extremely fun programs. Not only will be offering all of our storytimes, reading clubs and craft programs, but we added a ton of new programs for all ages to enjoy.

To register for the Summer Reading Club or for any programs, stop in the Children’s Department. Registration must be done in person.

For preschoolers, we have an exciting new program to encourage our youngest readers. It’s called “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” and it’s goal, is in fact, to help you track your preschoolers reading until they reach 1,000 books. All you need to do is sign up in the Children’s Department and receive your reading notebook. Keep track of all the titles of the books you read together – all titles! Rereading the same titles count, too. When you come back to the library, we will give your little ones stickers for every book they’ve read and a small prize each time they visit – it’s that easy!

For our children in grades K-6, we will be giving our readers reading logs to track the number of minutes they have read. For every hour they read, they can take a chance on the prizes that will be on display in the Children’s Department. The more they read, the more chances for prizes! Stop in on Saturday, June 16th or any day thereafter to get all signed up. We will be registering for all our summer programs at that time, too!
